Education : Bachelors Degree Experience : 10+ Years Description : Workshop Manager BE, aged 35/45 more than 10/15 yrs exp in maintenance of equipments like crawler/hydraulic Cranes, hydraulic Equipment, trailers, etc. Fully conversant with preventive maintenance schedule and its execution with knowledge of electrics/electronic. Work as a member of a team within the Brigade Workshops, in liaison with the Workshop Manager and other Mechanics, to ensure an efficient and competitive vehicle maintenance service is provided to Cheshire Fire Brigade Pricipal Responsibilties 1. Carry out vehicle repair and maintenance work to pre-determine standards, to ensure the Brigade Workshops meets its obligations to provide vehicles which are safe, reliable and legal in accordance with the Road Traffic Acts. 2 Complete records for all vehicles and equipment maintained, to ensure the efficiency and accountability of the Workshop. 3 Maintain specialist Brigade equipment and tools to ensure they are available for immediate use. 4 Observe safe working practices to comply with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation. 5 Road test vehicles to ensure they are returned to Brigade use in a safe working order. 6 Collect/deliver vehicles as necessary to ensure the Brigade maximises its appliance availability. 7 Identify and report to the Workshop Manager any vehicle defect which has not been identified as part of the allocated job task to ensure the safety of the Brigade’s vehicles. 8 Identify and report recurrent problems with vehicles to the Workshop Manager to enable assessments to be made of working practices and the possibilities of implementing changes to improve productivity. 9 Report factors which prevent work continuing on a vehicle to the Workshop Manager immediately they occur and commence the next scheduled job, to ensure the most effective use of time. 10 Communicate with Brigade Personnel as required, to promote good customer relations. 11 Maintain high levels of cleanliness of workshops, vehicles and equipment to promote safe working practices. 12 Provide out of hours cover for breakdowns/incidents as per the agreed rota scheme to maximise Brigade appliance availability.
