A laser printer technician is an information technology professional who is employed by or consults with an organization for the purpose of installing, troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining laser printers and other computer related hardware owned by the company.

Education : Higher Secondary




Experience : 5 - 10 Years




Responsibilities :


1. Price job requests for printed materials.

2. Customer service and public relations with campus clients.

3. Prepare and maintain clerical records and financial reports.

4. Answer incoming telephone calls.

5. Extensive knowledge of printing procedures.

6. Ability to maintain and price job requests in computer system.


Client Service

  • It is important that a laser printer technician provides the utmost in client service, behaving in a professional manner as all times, while effectively managing the client's education.


Installation

  • A laser printer technician installs laser printers to their clients' networks, ensuring that all cords are connected properly and that the machine functions as expected.


Repairs

  • When a laser printer begins to malfunction, a laser printer technician is called to assess and troubleshoot the problem. If more than minor repairs are needed, the technician with with the proper external vendor, such as the hardware manufacturer, to resolve the issue.


Education

  • A candidate looking to become a laser printer technician typically needs to possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
