Responsibilities :
• He is responsible to maintain proper record of various logistics in a fully fledged way
• He is the person who is in contact with shipping details that are laid under dock charges
• He is responsible for proper packing of finished products.
• He must always assure timely and proper delivery of products to consumers
• He must be in touch with all the people who are associated with shipping, suppliers, and many other people.
• He is the person who has full control over various comforts that are associated with the company.
• Conduct regular field visits.Duties of logistics coordinator include :
• He should try to utilize transportation provider software systems to facilitate material movement for planning and scheduling.
• He needs to prepare and update monthly logistics to his management and assure deliveries to production locations and be in touch with product delivery schedules with the customers
• He needs to coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of finished goods and raw materials by various means of transport like rail cars and trucks and provide reports to internal and external customers as and when required.
• He should work closely with providers to assure fine output without wasting time and effective execution of defined processes and goods transportation.
• He assures the stock accuracy by coordinating the inventories department and goods system to system information.
• He organizes and maintains a hard copy for future reference and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution through various means and contractual obligations.
• He re-routes shipment as needed to meet demands and minimize costs
• He verifies accuracy of physical inventory when needed
• He supports the development, implementation and execution of the structured management process for supply chain critical process
• He checks for inventory locations and availability for consignment or dispatch against requirements specified in purchase orders.
Description : Logistics coordinator means different things in different industries and has different job duties in various companies within industry. He is the one who keeps a track record and contains all the related important information about the raw materials and finished goods and the one who bears the responsibility of enabling the finished goods to the market from the plant. He coordinates inventory stock and insures product adjustments are properly applied he receives the raw materials sort them, logs them and distributes all incoming shipments. He also identifies and tries to locate, obtain and arrange for shipment of requested replacement parts. His job is also to arrange warehousing and transportation of products to ultimate customers. He also investigates and gives response to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping.
