"Research associate" is a title often given for an academic position at a university or other research institution. Research associates are often involved as team members on research projects led by a principal investigator.
 
 

Education :  Bachelors Degree



Experience :  1 - 5 Years




Skills : 

- experience in analytical role with excellent writing skills;
- relevant work experience in research is strongly preferred;
- market or industry-specific knowledge (in particular communication) is a strong plus;
- University degree or equivalent, and experience in market and/or equity research in the telecoms fields; or research, marketing or sales at a telecoms service provider or vendor.

 

Research Analyst - Telecommunications

- conduct primary and secondary research in Telecommunication markets;
- analyze business and market trends;
- work with quantitative market sizing and forecasting analytical tools;
- prepare thorough and well-organized reports, writing of summaries & conclusions;
- build and maintain industry relationships.

 

Description :  

knowledge telecoms markets in general or in detail;
- entrepreneurial mindset;
- aptitude for business analysis and quantitative analysis;
- ability to work independently and collaboratively;
- excellent writing and communication skills; 
- proficiency with Excel and other MS Office software packages 

 


Educational Requirements

Most research associate positions require a doctoral degree in the particular field of research. For example, a research associate working in chemistry would typically need a Ph.D. in chemistry, and a research associate working in geography would need a doctorate in geography.



Research Skills

The job of a research associate requires familiarity with a wide variety of research methodologies and techniques; statistical analysis; quantitative and qualitative methods; writing and speaking skills; and analytical and critical thinking skills.



Other Skills

Other necessary skills of a research associate include the ability to contribute meaningful ideas and work productively with other research team members as well as on independent assignments.



Responsibilities

As active members of a team of researchers, associates are responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to a project, including planning and assisting with data collection; data analysis; and writing and disseminating research results.
