Experience : 1 - 5 Years.

Skills :
  • In some states it’s mandatory that principals have administrator licenses.
  • They should have prior teaching experience before they can reach to this position.
  • Generally they start of their career as teaching staff and on experience and qualification they can reach to this position.
  • In some states it is mandatory that they need to pass some examinations to get qualified for becoming a principal.
  • Licensure is not requires for deputy or assistant principle in private schools or institutions.
  • Good communication skill both in verbal and written.
  • Strong problem solving skill is essential for this job.
  • Good decision making skill is required.
  • Good managerial skill is required.
  • Good leadership and administration ability is needed.
  • Technical and computer skills are required for increased efficiency.
  • Capability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Hardworking and flexible to learn new practices.

Responsibilities :
  • One of the main duties administers day to day duties.
  • Hiring best of the faculty for teaching students.
  • Preparing academic schedule for the students.
  • Enforcing rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining a cordial relationship with students and teaching staff.
  • Taking feed back from students about teaching staff.
  • Ensuring that all safety measures are employed and followed.
  • Evaluating school education standards on a regular basis.
  • Organizing some education tours and trips for student entertainment.
  • Review the quality of food service offered to the students.
  • Conducting parents meet once in a month and evaluate pupil’s performance.
  • Principal have to attend the seminars and meetings conducted by state governing authorities.
  • Principal need to update the curriculum, standards, and procedures on regular basis.

Description : Principal are the persons who are responsible for managing and administering school and ensure that the there is smooth functioning of the school. Principal needs to be a learned person, as he is responsible for ensuring that best of the education is provided to the students of the school. In other words he/she is the leader of the school. Principals are accountable for each and every activity that takes place in the school premises; they have to be very active and attentive to the issues pertaining to child welfare and safety.

A school principal is responsible assigning classes to the staff or faculty according to their education qualification and competency level. He/ she is responsible making sure that all the facilities are available to students like books in the library, and students get there uniforms, ensure that food provided to the school children is safe hygiene.

Principal are responsible for making rules and regulations to maintain discipline standards and ensure that all the student follow them.  This is very responsible job as he / she is responsible for mentoring students in a right way and counsel students who are trouble makers in the school and even talk with their parents and ensure that it is not repeated again. Principals have teaching background, they have to posses some qualifications and experience before they can reach to that position. He/she should posses leadership skills and be a role model to the students.
