responsible for a variety of projects--including training development
projects--requiring technical skills. This role generally reports into
an information technology department (IT) and may also require

Roles and Responsibilities
Essential job functions vary for technical trainers, depending on an organization's needs. Technical trainers may be required to develop computer software and programming applications; work with project managers to conduct a training needs analysis and course evaluation; prepare system training databases for training courses; assemble user guides and cheat sheets, and ship them to the customer; and create test data for training via funding spreadsheets, manual funding data, release spreadsheets, and payment data spreadsheets.
Qualifications
According to career builder.com, some of the minimum requirements for technical trainers include a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, education, instructional design, information systems, technology, or certification as a technical trainer; experience with related responsibilities for three to five years; preferred skills such as knowledge and development of Java, C, C++, C#, and/or Perl programming languages; excellent presentation and classroom management skills, help desk training, or excellent communication skills.
