Nurses are vital to the success of the medical community as a whole. They perform duties that are essential to the well-being of patients and the working efficiency of doctors. Head nurses are vital to the successful functioning of a medical facility's nursing unit. Head nurses perform a variety of routine and supervisory functions that affect almost every area of a unit's daily operations.

In order to successfully carry out the duties of Head nurse (ICU,CCU,OR,Emergency) an candidate must have relevant qualifications (bachelor nursing degree), min 3 years of experience, being a good leader, organizer, problem solver, a self-starter, observant, fluent in English, a good communicator and possess good people skills.

General
Head nurses (ICU,CCU,OR,EMERGENCY) perform a variety of routine and supervisory functions.

Nurses are performing duties that are essential to the well-being of patients and the working efficiency of doctors. Head nurses are vital to the successful functioning of a medical facilities nursing unit, they perform a variety of functions that affect almost every area of a units daily operations.

Supervisor

Head nurses act as the supervisors of a nursing staff. They allocate duties and evaluate the performance of other nurses. They also train any newly hired nurses.

Inventory Management

Head nurses are responsible for ensuring that adequate quantities of supplies are maintained, and for ordering new supplies when necessary.

 

 

Patients
Head nurses also work directly with patients. They ensure that patients' conditions remain stable and that doctors' treatment instructions have been properly carried out.

 

Doctors
Doctors are often accompanied by head nurses while making their rounds. The head nurse is responsible for alerting the doctor to any unique concerns or complaints regarding a patient.

 

 

Working Hours

The standard work week in the Gulf is 48 hours. The number of hours in a shift vary somewhat from department to department but generally do not exceed 10 hours. The standard work week is Saturday through Wednesday.
